Ok here is my before & after at Ramirez Tran Salon! What a difference! Johnny Ramirez took the color from brassy to beachy, and Anh Co Tran took the lopsided cut from frumpy to chic.
I was introduced to Johnny & Anh by my stylish LA friend, Vanessa. She designed their Beverly Hills salon, and said I MUST go to them for hair when they are in San Francisco. The pair travels internationally as their signature beachy style is sought all over the world. I followed her advice, booked an appointment, and had no idea what I was in store for me.
A few things you should know about Ramirez Tran: they are very expensive, their process takes a very long time, and they are very busy. You will feel like you are in a factory, being passed around to 10 different people. Plan on being there for 8 hours. Not kidding. Bring snacks & chargers because once they start, you are stuck. They will do some weird things to your hair that include lots of teasing and multiple trips to the sink to rinse. The whole process feels very strange, but you gotta just be patient, let go, and trust the process.
A few other things you should know about Ramirez Tran: they are one of the most sought after stylists in the world right now. They take care of many celebrities and travel internationally making guest appearances in cities where girls line up to get their hair done by the masters.
If you like a tousled beachy style, you will love their look.

johnny: color
Johnny is the celebrity colorist who creates "Lived in Color" which is sun-kissed, beachy, and natural looking. He believes bright highlights shouldn't always start at the root....that's not how it works in real life when you are in the sun. His gradual color isn't exactly ombré, but looks more like you just returned from vacation.
anh: cut
Anh Co Tran basically created the textured lob you see all over instagram, "lived-in-hair." Clients include Anne Hathaway, Julienne Moore, and Emily Ratajkowski. His method is different-he cuts your hair when it's dry. He wants to see how the hair falls, where are the cowlicks & split ends. Makes sense to me-we wear our hair dry, why would we cut it when it's wet and looks way different? He will then blow dry your hair straight and then add soft messy curls with a curling iron. His look is full of movement but also subtle.
I saw them four times, and was always happy with the result, but have since shifted to a more reasonably priced SF based hairstylist. I am thankful for the introduction from Vanessa, and thankful Johnny, Anh, & their teams made my hair look so great!
