My friend Sarah told me about this.....our pillows get gross. She read an article that forced her to immediately throw hers in the garbage and start fresh. I just started reading online and am doing the same.
New year = new pillows! Most articles say about 18 months for down/synthetic pillows and about 3 years for memory foam. If you can't remember when you purchased your pillow, if it is lumpy, or if it has the tiniest inkling of an odor, it's time. Think about it-we spend 1/3 of our life sleeping. How much do you spend on face products? Could your acne be from an old dirty pillow? (Dermatologists also recommend regularly washing pillow cases!).
We are also supposed to be washing our pillows every 3 months. Is everyone doing this? I tried at one point but they took forever to dry and were never the same.
I couldn't remember how old mine were....which is not a good sign. I have ordered new ones - will report back how they feel! And will figure out how to wash them!
