I went back to an old favorite hair stylist: Wes Pine. I had moved around a few times over the last few years, trying different people and different looks. Wes' lived in hair styles continued to catch my eye on instagram, so I booked an appointment.
Wes and Lisa listened to my wishes. They took out the warmth and brought in a brighter blonde. Techniques used include babylights, balayage, and root shadow.
I am really happy with the result! Some people may think it's awkward to return to an old hair stylist. Wes is gracious and professional and was genuinely happy to see me. I enjoyed working with him in the past. The only reason I made a change was because convinced by a friend to try out her hair stylist for a bit. I ended up moving around a few more times and found my way back to Wes. No big deal. I think it is ok to try different people. The most important part is communication. If you aren't happy with your hair person, explain to them what you're looking for, and give them a chance to try. And when you visit a new person, bring photos and/or explain what you like and don't like. Hair stylists aren't mind readers, and they want you to be happy with your new look.
Specifics: they used Wella Education Blondor with Olaplex in Framar Int. foils for a full head of babylights. At the bowl they added a root shadow using color touch 7/0 on the base and 8/81 + 10/0 mids to ends. Lisa styled with Reverie Milk roots to ends on wet hair. Once dry, she used Bioionic 1.25" Style WInder and finished with Reverie sea salt spray.
