My friend's boyfriend graciously offered to cook a delicious brunch for a few of us on a Sunday morning. I offered to contribute some flowers. Truth be told, I had some leftover flower arrangements from a recent flower class. Instead of buying all new flowers, I used what I could salvage. I think it turned out well!
How to make your own? I used a square vase and added a cube of presoaked flower foam inside. I took whatever flowers I had in the same general color scheme and stuffed them in, working from the top to the sides, thinking about upper, middle, and lower "decks." I varied the size and textures. I used mostly green around the bottom and stuffed green in any holes. Keep stuffing and keep stuffing until the entire thing is totally full. Move quickly, don't think too much, and you'll be surprised at how pretty it will turn out!
We set the flowers outside on the roof deck to welcome the guests. I added a tray and a container for the champagne to help it to look pulled together.
Old flowers + tray + container......voilá! A beautiful cocktail vignette!
